I used to hide who I was a lot, but since starting college I've started to realise that it's okay to be myself even if there are people who don't like it. It's not my fault, and there's nothing wrong with it. I'm still kind of 'oh shit' at times, but I'm getting better.

I'm not brave, I'm not loud, and I'm not as confident as I'd like to be... but I've realised a few things since I left school.

I shouldn't have to be ashamed of who I am. Especially not when there's nothing for me to be ashamed of. Sure I'm not the greatest person to ever grace the Earth, but I'm pretty damn sure I don't deserve the shit I've been put through for trying to be open about myself in the past.

So now I try not to listen when people put me down for something I can't help. Now I try to be true to myself.
